Summerville Living for the Adventurer

Our homeowners love Summerville, SC. We love Summerville, too. There’s so much to enjoy and experience here, particularly if you like to be active. When you’re ready to make a change and pump more fun into your life, Hunter Quinn Homes recommends you explore this southern town about 24 miles north of Charleston.

First of all, Summerville has a population of about 50,000, so it’s not exactly small, but still manages to feel that way. There’s an ideal balance between Southern charm and fun-loving spirit. What a great combination!

How do you define “adventure”?

An adventure is anything that takes you outside you outside—whether it’s outside your home or outside your comfort zone. So, where will your Summerville adventure take you?

A town that is known as “Flowertown in the Pines” and certified as a Tree City USA is certainly all about nature.

Azalea Park is a good starting point. The 16-acre park is located in the heart of the historic downtown area. The gardens resulted from the passion of the Flowertown Garden Club, and they continue to maintain this stunning array of flowers and foliage. Azalea Park might not seem like an adventure to some people, but wandering through this scenic paradise certainly boosts your energy and spirit. Picnic by the turtle pond, take in the sculptures, and inhale the fragrances of floral splendor.

If you want more out of your Summerville adventure, take a hike.

No, really, go hiking. Or canoeing. Or cycling. Or just about any other type of outdoor recreation that sparks your energy. The Ashley River runs alongside Summerville. The 30-mile coastal river is a popular attraction for recreationalists.

Hiking and nature trails are ready for your exploration, too. Sawmill Branch Trail is a paved, 6.5-mile path that runs along the Sawmill Branch Canal. You can detour down some of the side trails to get off the beaten path. Oakbrook Nature Trail winds through 12 acres of lowcountry conservation land thats includes three wetland areas. Bring your dog to Rosebrock Park and both of you can enjoy a 1.5-mile hike through 70 acres of forest and wetlands, ending at the banks of the Ashley River.

Need more activity? Go kayaking, tubing, or canoeing on the Edisto River. Stay awhile and camp there to pump more adventure into this fun-filled outdoor experience.

Feed your curiosity
