A Look Back at 2018

Hunter Quinn Homes began in 2013, launched by local home builder Will Herring with a sturdy foundation of many years of experience. As a relatively young company, we’ve had the flexibility to grow and adapt to changing needs for homebuyers in the Charleston, SC, area. At the end of every year, we review what we’ve accomplished to help us frame up our plans for the future. As we take a look back at 2018, we see what we’ve done, but also where we need to go.

In the spring of 2018, we introduced Tributary to the existing Park at Rivers Edge gated community. Not only is this neighborhood the oldest gated community in North Charleston but it also has a variety of amenities- swimming pool, clubhouse, tennis courts, intramural field, play park, walking and jogging paths, and optional boat storage- ideal for today's homebuyers. The location in the Ashley River Historic District of North Charleston has attracted many people who want the convenience of townhome living that’s close to everything in this area. Townhomes range from 1,500 to 2,010 square feet, with 3 to 4 bedrooms and optional garages on some units. The first phase is now available, with prices starting in the upper $100,000’s.

A few months later, we launched another North Charleston townhome community, in response to the growing demand for affordable housing. In the Park Circle area, Creekside at Horizon Village is close to  Four Poles Park, Riverfront Park, and historic Noisette Creek, so if you like outdoor recreation, this is a great location. Olde North Charleston is a short drive from Creekside, expanding your horizons to entertainment, shopping, and dining venues. Like Tributary, these new construction, 2- and 3-bedroom townhomes are priced in the upper $100,000s—great for the first-time homebuyer for the empty nester!

2018 was a very busy year for two of our communities The Village at Fairmont South in Moncks Corner and Pine Hill Acres in Summerville. Both neighborhoods of single-family homes are almost sold out. In a convenient and scenic location north of Summerville, Pine Hill Acres has few homesites available where there is still opportunity to choose your home plan and features and finishes. Contact us to come home to these communities.

If you like Fairmont South, we have good news. Situated in its own enclave of the existing Fairmont community, The Paddock at Fairmont South is getting underway. The model home is under construction and is the first home being built from an all new plan series- the Coastal Farmhouse Collection. This portfolio of new home plans presents a unique blend of lowcountry and rustic architectural and design features—perfect for South Carolina! Right now, there are a great selection of homesites, so if you want to be one of the charter members of a growing community, get in touch with us soon!

For those homebuyers who prefer a more coastal look to your home, we created The Coastal Home Plan Series that features homes with drive under garages, open floor plans and lofty spaces. Two home plans, The Topsail and The Wrightsville, are the first in this series homes. We were inspired to design new homes by the location of our community, Marshfield Plantation in West Ashley, a short drive to historic Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach.

Will and his leadership team have a vision for Hunter Quinn Homes, for the coming year and beyond. We plan to continue to build communities of quality homes, keeping them affordable while still incorporating the features that homebuyers expect. When you’re ready to buy a new home or townhome in Charleston, North Charleston, or the other wonderful cities and towns in this region, please keep us in mind—because your needs are always on OUR minds!
