About The Community
In 1867, two years after the end of the Civil War, seven African-American men rode the South Carolina Special train from Charleston to start a new life. They found an area where trains stopped for water, wood, and coal and bought 620 acres from the South Carolina Railroad Company for $1,000. They named their new town “Lincolnville” after the late President Abraham Lincoln.
Today, Lincolnville’s 1.2 square miles are home to about 1,200 people who relish the friendliness of this peaceful setting—which also happens to be located just minutes from Summerville, an active suburb of Charleston and North Charleston.
Lincolnville Square is growing into a unique neighborhood of single-family homes that combine the grace of Southern architecture with a contemporary interior and sophisticated features. With lots up to almost a half-acre and floor plans from 1,425 to 3,160 square feet, you can comfortably find your home here.

From your home at Lincolnville Square, you can walk to Gahagan Park or take a quick ride to Historic Downtown Summerville and the Azalea Square Shopping Center and Cinema. Downtown Charleston is less than half an hour away.
